LEARNER OBJECTIVES

  1. Gain a greater understanding of the writing for publication and peer review process.
  2. Establish a way forward for successful publication.
  3. Encourage reflection on current research projects and their potential for publication.
  4. Inform and direct future projects.
  5. Particular focus on publishing for the Journal of Nursing Management. 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

  • This activity was developed to meet the needs of Nurse Practitioners and Nurses caring for clients.
  • This webinar is also appropriate for providers and/or providers-in-training from diverse healthcare professions including physicians, nurses, dentists, physician assistants, pharmacists, and program administrators.

PRESENTER

  • Fiona Timmins, Dean and Head of School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems, Full Professor of Nursing at University College Dublin, Ireland 

PRESENTER BIO(s)

Fiona is the Dean and Head of School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems and Full Professor of Nursing at University College Dublin. She has more than 20 years' experience of writing for publication and reviewing papers for publication in addition to several contributions to international Editorial Boards and Advisory Panels. She has published numerous papers (180 listed in Scopus) and 11 authored/co-authored textbooks. Her H-index (Scopus) is 22 and on Google Scholar is 37. She is Editor in Chief of the Journal of Nursing Management and is currently a member of three International Conference Committees and ten Editorial Boards/Advisory Panel. She is passionate about supporting Faculty and clinicians to disseminate their research and hopes that this workshop will springboard a renewed enthusiasm for writing for publication.

NURSING CEs

  • This course has been approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider #CEP16785, for a maximum of 1.00 Nursing Contact Hour. The licensee must retain this document for a period of four (4) years after the course concludes.
