This presentation will describe JOY, its meaning, evidence and importance in everyday life, work and leadership. The presenter will actively engage you with activities to help you learn more about JOY and what it means to you as a person and healthcare professional. After this presentation, the presenter hopes you will have a better sense of the importance of infusing more JOY into your life, work and how you lead others!

Presenter
Allison McHugh, DNP, MHCDS, MS, RN- NE-BC; Nurse Executive; Redding, California
Allison is a nurse executive with over 25 years of experience. She’s been a Chief Nursing Officer for the past 6 years. Over her career, has held a variety of leadership positions, including: associate chief nurse, nursing director/ manager, and she has been involved in many initiatives related to leadership and wellness. She recently received her DNP, from UNLV, with a focus in nurse executive practice. Her research was on reducing implicit rationing by improving the work environment. Allison is an active member of ALSN and a member of the ALSN research subcommittee. Although she is a "new englander," born and raised in Massachusetts, she has also practiced nursing in many parts of the country. Allison is married and enjoys the outdoors, photography and art.
